~make your omlette pretty

I don't know about you, but when my food is more aesthetically pleasing, I'm always more eager to taste it. Sometimes, when I'm not in a rush, I take more time to decorate the food than to eat it in the end. That's what happened to this omelette: I felt like placing all the ingredients carefully, using more colours, folding it slowly, so that it looks better than just everything mixed together. And it still didn't take too long: it's an omlette, after all.

Ingredients for 1 portion:

✔ 2 eggs

✔ 20 g butter

✔ 2-3 slices of bacon/ham/salami

✔ 1 hanful of mixed salad (the one I used contains baby spinach, rucola and salad)

✔ 2 slices cheese (I used Edam)

✔ salt, pepper by taste

✔ 5-6 slices of cucumber or/and 5/6 slices of radish (whatever you prefer)

Optional: grated cheese, cherry tomatoes, olives for serving

Instructions:

  1. In a frying pan, melt the butter on medium-to-slow heat.

  2. Meanwhile, beat the two eggs in a small bowl with a fork, add the salt and the pepper.

  3. When the butter melted, tranfer the eggs and smoothen into the shape of the pan.

  4. Leave on medium-to-small heat until it starts to thicken (about 2-3 minutes) and the eggs start to get cooked.

  5. On one half of the omlette, put the cheese slices, then the ham, then the vegetables. Cover and leave on small heat for another 1-2 minutes, or until the eggs are cooked and you can slide a spatula under the undecorated half to lift it and fold the omlette.

  6. Cover and leave for about another 2 minutes, then with the help of your spatula, turn the folded omelette on the other side. Leave it for about 2 minutes, covered.

  7. Your Folded Omelette is ready! Serve it warm, with grated cheese and a salad.

Enjoy! :)
