~sweet bread - reinvented

Although it's the Hungarian name, I often here people say 'Bundás kenyér' in other languages as well. It is like delicious, salty version of French Toast. However, today I'm bringing you Bundás Kalács, a sweet version of Bundás Kenyér made of the famous Romanian Sweet Bread that (almost) all of us prepare for the holiday season. It is a quick, simple and sweet breakfast idea and a brilliant way to give the dry and leftover sweet bread slices another chance.

Ingredients:

✔ 6 slices of sweet bread

✔ 4 eggs

✔ 1 tbsp cinnamon

✔ 10 g butter

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your owen to 180 C and line a baking tray with baking paper.

  2. With a fork, mix the eggs and the cinnamon.

  3. Dip the sweet bread slices in the beaten eggs.

  4. Place the slices on the baking paper.

  5. Cut the butter in 6 equal pieces and place one under each slice.

  6. Bake for about 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.

Enjoy! :)
